A Visual Development Artist, such as Jason Chan work in animation, film and video production, game design, and web design. Jason, in particular, specializes in illustration for marketing, key art illustration, and character concept design. I find this interesting because this is the first time I have ever heard of visual development artist and usually assume these tasks are done by "graphic designers" or "designated illustrators". The average salary of visual development artists in Texas is $90,892, with majority of job offers originating from game and production companies.
For my semester project, I would like to make a website for custom brushes for multiple different digital art programs. While many of these programs have their own websites for custom brushes, not many are uploaded or are locked behind paywalls. Many popular artists post what brushes they use on their social media, but are often buried under other posts. Thus, I would like to create a website full of free custom brushes made by standalone artists or featured artists where the user is able to see a "featured" page for specific styles and a "standard" page where you will be able to search brushes by type and program. This will also allow for brushes with cross-platform compatibility to be found in one website rather than multiple.
