Part 1: "Conversations with Robots: Voice, Smart Agents & the Case for Structured Content"
Structured content is content that is explicity defined and framed so that it is ready for any interface or algorithm while semantic HTML communicates information about the relationship between elements.
Structured content and semantic HTML work together in a way that makes the content "digestible" to both the machine and the average user. For example, the structured conent organizes the content into "chunks" and then the semantic HTML interprets the content.
It is important to have both structured content and semantic HTML so that the content can be optimized and organized for both the algorithm and user navigation/readability.
Part 3: "Banishing Your Inner Critic" and "Procrastination"
The one I find to be the most effective and one that I use myself is the "interrogation" method. Sometimes, when I can't quite shut down these self-critiques, I counter these critiques with a bombardment of questions. The more I ask, the more these thoughts are minimalized.
According to David McRaney, hyperbolic discounting is the tendency to get more rational when you are forced to wait. To counteract hyperbolic discounting, I find spreading out my assignments into "zones" the most effective so that I can do one assignment at a time at a controlled pace.
